When Tula and Dobie arrived, they had minimal experience with anything (toys, the house, leashes, petting, etc.). They are approx. 7 months old. Tula looks like a Dutch Shepherd is 57 lbs, and the other girl, who looks and acts like a Doberman (we call her Dobie), is 54 lbs.

They are very sweet, although a little greedy when it comes to chew bones or food. They are feed them in their kennels. All household altercations are due to one dog trying to take something away from another dog or getting in another dog's space while chewing on bones.

Tula, who is very loving, a bit shy, is the more independent one. She prefers to go outside by herself to chew on chew bones. At first she seemed less confident, but at the vet she was very confident and at ease. Tula has a scar on one of her hind legs. It looks like she may have been tethered? When she first arrived, she had an issue with that leg, but it is no longer noticeable. The scar is permanent.

We are working on everything right now: jumping up, counter-surfing, and getting in the trash. They were very puppy-nippy when they first arrived.  That has mainly gone away except when they get nervous and do not understand. When they first arrived, they got into everything. Again, this was mainly nervous inexperience. Someone interested in them will need to understand that with confidence and consistency, the bad behavior dwindles. It is not entirely gone, but it is already much better. It will resurface in a new, scary environment.

They are beautiful, sweet, intelligent dogs. With some focused, consistent training, they will be perfect. They are both good with dogs and cats. It seems they spent their life thus far mainly in kennels.  Day by day, we are seeing improvements. They do not seem to have any traits or habits that cannot be corrected.

They feel safest in their kennel. That is the only experience they seem to have had before coming into our home.
